Hair: Not that I've ever been big on perms (no judgement) I would still use them every once in a while. Now that I'm
deciding to let my hair grow out, I've decided to try the natural route. Most of the time they say it's best to cut off your hair and start fresh. Ummmm no. Sorry. Specially when most natural hair company's have products for transitioners. These are the products I've been recommended by a few of my friends whom are all natural:
deciding to let my hair grow out, I've decided to try the natural route. Most of the time they say it's best to cut off your hair and start fresh. Ummmm no. Sorry. Specially when most natural hair company's have products for transitioners. These are the products I've been recommended by a few of my friends whom are all natural:
Carol's Daughter Styling Butter Hair Milk $12 @ carolsdaughter.com
Dark and Lovely Au Naturale Tension Shampoo $10 @ Walgreens
Facial Products: Who knew washing your face with Dove soap daily wasn't enough? Apparently to keep your skin refreshed and oil free you should at least have a cleanser, moisturizer with SPF, and a toner available in your medicine cabinet. And if you have any scars or marks, a brightening correcting serum is recommended as well. But this stuff can get expensive! I've picked up 2 of the 4 so far.
Cleanser/Scrub: $22 @ Lush Cosmetics
Correcting Serum: $12 @ Walmart
(Scrubs and Toners are also available by this brand)
Make Up: Typically I'm the eye liner and maybe some bronzer type of girl. But what do you do when you're attending a high profile event and eye liner just isn't going to cut it? Walk right into MAC and ask for a tutorial like I did. One of my pet peeves is non-blended make up in pictures. So the lovely make up artist suggested these products for an everyday natural beat:
Moisture Infusion Serum: $41Pro Longwear Concealer: $20 for 9ml
Prep and Prime Fix +: $22
Raizin Powder Blush: $22
All found at MAC stores or maccosmetics.com
Hopefully my beauty transition helps yours as well!
