CBC Behind The Scenes: Idol Magazine Surrealism Issue

There are so many different hustles in fashion, that no one in fashion has just one. I must admit the inconsistencies of work flow makes you appreciate each job or opportunity even more. Back in August I had the chance to assist one of my favorite stylists/editors, Ryan Davis, with UK magazine Idol Magazine's 9th Issue. The Surrealism Issue is finally done and available online and on stands in the UK and soon to be in the US. Check out some BTS footage of the cover shoot below.

Hair and make up tips with freebies all under one roof? Sign me up! NYX, QVC, Carol's Daughter, and Essie were a few of the brands present at Beauty Con 2015 offering everything from free manicures to hair braiding. Free shampoo for a follow on Instagram was the catch phrase for most of the vendors. (I mean that's pretty reasonable right?) Check out the freebies and details below!

Cheap OOTD: Sacai x NikeLab

Nike Lab teamed up with Japanese designer Sacai on a collaboration of Nike Tech pieces with a flare (literally). The collection debuted in March offering different silhouettes from skirts, dresses, and sweat shirts all with a touch of mesh or pleated detailing. Retail this collection started around $150 just for the tank top. Lucky me found a skirt from the collection in Burlington Coat Factory for $40! Check out the details below!

Balmain x H&M: The Full Collection

Let's cut to the chase, we know I'm personally not really here for this collaboration all together. I will say that I do appareciate the cohesiveness for both men's and women's collections. Disappointed with the Balmain t shirts though; did we not get enough of the knock off versions from literally every where? Needless to say, overall, I prefer the men's collection over the women's collection. I, like Jay Z, would wear black for a year straight so don't listen to me. At least the price points are decent. The priciest item is listed at $400, for now. Check out the collections below:
